At the same time, the company have restored 1 VHP, a car which can also claim its rightful place in motoring history as the very first production Right Hand Drive Fixed Head Coupe E-Type Jaguar.
For Jaguar lovers, 9600 HP is the most glamourous car ever. It was the secret prototype that under went pre-launch testing - including high speed runs on the new M1 motorway. It was the first and only 150 mph E-Type, and in its role as publicity ambassador it went on to become the most photographed car in history!Author Philip Porter, who has penned a dozen books on Jaguar, owns 9600 HP. However, he only became aware of the full historical significance of the vehicle when researching his award winning definitive history of the E-Type.
9600 HP was unveiled to a selected audience at a secret location in Worcestershire during April 1999. Then in 2001 the restoration was complete, the project will climaxed with a step-by-step reconstruction of the E-Type's triumphant 1961 drive to the Geneva motor show.
